Pemberwick Park drainage study

 

To provide the current status

of the project.

Following the impacts of Tropical Storm Ida, the Department of Public Works (DPW) began to review a number of areas in Town for alternatives to reduce the impacts of future storms It was determined one of the parts of Town that required further study is the Pemberwick Park drainage area.

NEXT STEPS:

• Continue Working with USACE on Byram River Project - On-going
   

• Finalize Design of Pipe expansion to Byram River - Winter ’22
   

• Continue to work with West Lyon Farm -Winter ’22
  Jim Michael of DPW, stated he's been communicating with West and East Lyons farm they have some maintenance and minor upgrading to do and was requesting some assistance from him or the town. I asked Jim Michael of DPW kindly, if he would please update me sooner rather than later of what those maintenance and minor upgrades were going to be, let me know when they were going to be completed.
   

• Construction of Trash Rack Improvements - Spring ’23
  ( See attached image below ( this is exactly the Trash Rack we have been pushing on them since last year Ida storm Sept 21 )

 

Construction of Pipe Expansion - Fall '23 - Summer 24 ( See Below )

1. Recommendation - Pipe Replacement

2. Replacing the head wall inlet with 48" diameter pipe

3. Replacing pipe from inlet to Pemberwick Rd with 48" diameter pipe

4. Replacing Rex Street pipe with 60" diameter pipe

5. May not be feasible given other utilities in the road - May consider diversion pipe alternative ( a additional pipe right next to the existing one )

6. These improvements would increase the capacity of the system to the 100-year
